The Rapid Growth of A Chicago Waste Hauler

The Rapid Growth of A Chicago Waste Hauler

Since SBC Waste Solutions started its journey as a Chicago Waste Hauler, the company has grown at a remarkable rate, which took the SBC team by surprise. In recent months, we have learned that we were named Business of the Year in Broadview for 2021 and were selected an honoree for the Daily Herald 2021 Entrepreneurial Excellence Awards. We are incredibly grateful for both of these honors. We started with one truck and a passion for the garbage industry. In just three years, our fleet has expanded to 54 trucks and we now have a team of 62 full-time employees.

As a company we owe a lot to CEO Karen Coley, whose business acumen has driven a lot of the growth the business has experienced. In its first year, the sales of the company doubled. For 2021, we’re expected to increase our sales by 125% compared to 2020. We now provide services in four different Chicagoland counties, including Kane, Cook, DuPage and Will. We provide weekly garbage pickup and recycling for four different municipalities: Winfield, Bridgeview, Bloomingdale, and Indian Head Park. We have had such an amazing experience so far working with these municipalities and becoming a part of these communities. We will soon be celebrating the opening of our brand new corporate office. This expansion of our headquarters is one of the biggest milestones we have had as a company so far.

Our early success has also provided us with the opportunity to give back to the communities we service by sponsoring some wonderful companies and charities in the Chicago area. Some of the organizations we have sponsored include the National Kidney Foundation of Illinois, Get Fresh Produce, 100 Club of DuPage County, DuPage County Sheriff’s Office, Humble Design Chicago, Chicago Police Memorial Foundation, and Friends of Katrina Thompson Annual Golf Outing.

We are thrilled to see what 2022 brings us. We look forward to continuing to grow the company, partner with new communities and businesses, expand the SBC fleet, provide more jobs to more people, and more. It’s an exciting time to be a new waste hauler in the midwest and we’re humbled to have the opportunity to do what we love.
