CART ISSUES?

PARK RIDGE COLLECTION DAYS: MONDAY – FRIDAY

Park Ridge residents’ collection days will remain the same. All garbage, recycling, and seasonal yard waste/food scrap collection will occur between 7AM and 6PM on your designated collection day. Please ensure all carts are placed either curbside or in the alley by 7AM on your collection day.

CART DISTRIBUTION

SBC will deliver (1) 95-gal garbage and (1) 65-gal recycling cart to each home beginning in April 2026. Residents can also purchase an additional refuse or recycling cart for a one-time fee of $85.00.

  • SBC cannot provide or guarantee a date/time for new cart deliveries, but residents are welcome to check SBC’s cart delivery map for delivery progress by clicking here.

  • Residents have the option to swap cart sizes at no charge within the first 6 months of service by calling SBC at (312) 522-1115.

  • If residents have a yard waste cart purchased from the previous hauler, please contact SBC at (312) 522-1115 to have a free SBC-identifying sticker and yard waste sticker applied to their cart. Residents also have the option to replace their current yard waste cart with an SBC cart for a discounted fee of $35.00.

  • If residents would like to participate in food scrap collection, they must purchase a cart of any size for $85.00 each by calling SBC at (312) 522-1115 or use a cart purchased from the prior hauler with an SBC-identifying sticker.

HOLIDAY SCHEDULE

If the holiday falls on a weekday, on or before your scheduled collection, service will be delayed by one day for the remainder of the holiday week. If the holiday falls on a Sunday, it will be observed on Monday and service will be delayed one day the entire week. Only the following holidays will affect your regular collection service day:

  • New Year’s Day
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Christmas Day

GARBAGE COLLECTION

  • Garbage cart collection service includes (1) 95-gal garbage cart. Residents can also purchase an extra cart for a one-time fee of $85.00. 
  • Carts used for this service have wheels, an attached lid, and a long handlebar.
  • Garbage collection is performed weekly on your designated pickup day.
  • All items must be placed out for collection by 7AM.
  • Two bulk item pickups are offered each week at no extra charge.
  • Residents have the option to either downsize to a 65-gal or 35-gal cart free of charge within the first 6 months of service. To swap the size of your cart, please call SBC at (312) 522-1115.

BULK ITEMS

Bulk items are items too large to fit into your cart. SBC collects up to (2) bulk items per week at no additional charge. Place bulk items next to your SBC cart(s) by 7AM on your collection day.

EXAMPLES OF BULK ITEMS:

Tables | Chairs | Mattresses | Bed Frames | Box Springs | Fixtures | Toys | Large Pictures or Frames

A mattress or box spring must be secured in a plastic mattress cover for health and safety reasons. Mattress covers are available at hardware stores and other retail outlets.

For items that do not meet the bulk item guidelines, please contact SBC directly at (312) 522-1115 or email ParkRidge@sbcwastesolutions.com with a picture of your item(s) to inquire about a special collection.

CONSTRUCTION DEBRIS 

Debris from “do it yourself” home projects may be placed in your SBC container. Construction materials alongside your SBC cart(s) cannot exceed 4 feet in length/width and 50lbs in weight whether containerized or bundled. Carpeting and padding are accepted as construction debris but must be tied rolls, bundled, or placed in your refuse cart. Such debris may not exceed the above descriptions for maximum length, width, and weight. RECYCLING COLLECTION

  • Recycling collection service includes (1) 65-gal recycling cart. Residents can also purchase an extra cart for a one-time fee of $85.00. 
  • Carts used for this service have wheels, an attached lid and a long handlebar.
  • Recycling collection is performed the same day as garbage collection on your designated pickup day.
  • All items must be placed out for collection by 7AM.
  • Residents have the option to either downsize to a 35-gal cart or upgrade to a 95-gal cart free of charge within the first 6 months of service. To swap the size of your cart, please call SBC at (312) 522-1115.

YARD WASTE & FOOD SCRAP COLLECTION

YARD WASTE COLLECTION

  • Yard waste collection service now runs from April 1st through the last full week in December each year.
    • Seasonal yard waste collection is performed on the same day as your garbage and recycling collection.
  • SBC accepts yard waste via a yard waste cart or brown bag collection.
  • Residents have the option to purchase a 35, 65, or 95-gal yard waste cart directly from SBC by calling (312) 522-1115.
  • Residents are permitted to use yard waste carts purchased from previous hauler, but they must have SBC-identifying sticker.
    • Residents can call SBC at 312-522-1115 to have a sticker applied to their cart on their service day. Stickers can also be obtained from both Public Works Departments, either at City Hall or the Service Center.
  • Branches and brush too large for carts or bags must be bundled with biodegradable twine, with each bundle not exceeding 4 ft in length and 2 ft in diameter.

FOOD SCRAP COLLECTION

**PARK RIDGE NOW OFFERS FOOD SCRAP COLLECTION**

  • Food scrap collection service now runs simultaneously with yard waste collection service from April 1st through the last full week in December.
  • Food scraps can now be commingled with yard waste however, food scraps are only accepted in a 35, 65 or 95-gal cart and NOT accepted in brown bag yard waste service.
  • If you would like to participate in food scrap collection, you must either purchase a cart by contacting SBC at (312) 522-1115 or use a cart purchased from the prior hauler with an SBC-identifying sticker.
    • Residents can call SBC at 312-522-1115 to have a sticker applied to their cart on their service day. Stickers can also be obtained from both Public Works Departments, either at City Hall or the Service Center.
